Alonso forecasts wins for 2005!

Renault F1 driver Fernando Alonso thinks Renault is still 2 years away of race wins. After qualifying a discreet 8th in Friday's session, the Spaniard was clear in saying that he did not expect any wins this season or next.

Alonso has the intention of winning the World Driver's Championship with Renault, but knows he is still far away to achieving his dream:

"We are a young team, this is only the second 100 per cent Renault in Formula One. I think we are growing up very quickly but it is still difficult to fight with Ferrari and McLaren." He said. "But I think we did a big step this season and I hope next season will again be a bigger step and we can fight with them. But for victory you have to be quick, you have to be lucky, there are a lot of things you have to have to win."

Alonso is quite surprised for his current position of 3rd in the Driver's Standing and about all the hype of him being the next Schumacher:

"I don't want to be too quick," he said. "If I do the maximum all weekends and if one day the victory is coming it will be a surprise, but I think it will not be possible this season or maybe even next season."
