Trulli to remain at Renault!

Trulli is set to remain at Renault despite the speculations that place Villeneuve moving to the Anglo-French squad. In an interview made by the Spanish Sport newspaper "As", Flavio Briatore, Renault F1 Managing Director, declared his intention of maintaining Trulli on the team for next season.

Strong speculation on the paddock has seen Canadian driver Jacques Villeneuve heading for Renault next season to replace the Italian driver. However, when questioned about it Briatore was quickly to confirm Trulli for next season:

"We are not questioning the continuity of Trulli at all. Jarno is a great driver and he will continue with us. We are quite satisfied with both drivers and we hope to give them next year a great car to keep with the progress." Briatore said.

Briatore is not expecting to challenge for the title in 2004:

"It took McLaren five years to fight for the World Championship and Ferrari spent 21 years without a Driver's Championship. We are young, we have been together for not so long. The atmosphere in the team is quite good. It reminds me of the golden years in Benetton. We are working to improve..." concluded Briatore.
