Sauber: Game, set and match!

The Sauber Petronas drivers Nick Heidfeld and Heinz-Harald Frentzen took up an invitation for a charity tennis tournament at the Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona on Thursday.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen's team mate at the matches was the Spaniard Albert Costa who is currently number eight in the world. Nick Heidfeld played together with the Spanish Davis Cup player Juan Ballac. The final took place between Mark Webber/Javier Sanchez and Juan Pablo Montoya/Arantxa Sanchez who won the tournament.

Nick Heidfeld commented "It was definitely good fun today. When I was younger I used to play tennis a lot but now I simply don't have much time left for it anymore. I particularly enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere of this event."

Heinz-Harald Frentzen added "I usually don't play tennis but today I had a lot of fun here. But I must confess that I am glad I took some intensive tennis lessons last week and yesterday so I was able to compete quite well."

At the Grand Prix of Monaco on 1 June an auction will take place where items of the drivers such as their overalls, their tennis clothing as well as their tennis rackets are given away for a charity aim. The fund goes to the Northampton Intensive Care Unit where Formula One drivers are brought to in case they had an accident at the Silverstone circuit.
