Maria Costello fundraising event a roaring success

The Vic Bikers Pub held a successful fundraising event for the fastest woman in the UK: Guinness World Record Holder, Maria Costello, last night attended a fundraising evening in her honour at the Victoria Bikers Pub in Coalville, Leicestershire.
The event was held to help Maria raise funds for her forthcoming race at the Manx Grand Prix at the end of this month. The night included a successful auction that raised over £400. Maria also autographed a Vic Pub regular’s motorbike, and answered questions during her interview. Maria will now head to the Isle of Man aiming to finish on the top step of the podium.
Costello will be competing at the Manx GP in both the Junior Race, on her Bering Honda CBR600RR prepared by Ricky at RLR Motorsports; and in the Ultra Lightweight, on the RLR Motorsports RVF400 that saw her take seventh place in her début at the North West 200.
“The Victoria Bikers Pub was a fantastic venue, and it felt great to be at a true bikers’ pub and soak up the atmosphere. I’ve raised some much needed funds to help with the trip to the Manx GP, where I want to beat my current Guinness World Record,” said Maria. “I’ve also been pledged a generator, which is just fantastic, from bike hire company Green Light - www.greenlightbikes.co.uk - and I would like to thank them for their support. I couldn’t race without the help and support of so many people and companies.”
The evening was well attended and included a display of children’s miniature race replica bikes by Kiddimoto - www.kiddimoto.co.uk. Kiddimoto have even produced a special Maria Costello Motorsport racing replica, and Maria will be working with the company to promote it.
“I had fantastic evening and I’d like to thank everyone who attended and, of course, all those who donated items for the auction,” ended Maria.
