It has been reported in the Italian press and on a number of well known motorsport websites that Toyota’s Jarno Trulli will remain with the Japanese team until 2009. This comes after a difficult start, but it seems Toyota are keen to invest in Jarno’s future.

Currently Jarno is set to score a single point, and as the year has progressed he has gained many critics over his ability to race and finish well in the points. It had been rumoured Nico Rosberg, Juan Pablo Montoya or even David Coulthard could partner Ralf Schumacher for the 2007 season, even Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher were names floating around Jarno’s seat over the winter.

But today it seems Toyota are set to continue with the current driver line up for another year, with Jarno expected to sign a 3 year deal. Ralf Schumacher has one more additional year on his contract which lasts until 2007.
