Jerez Day 3 – Toyota 3rd and 6th fastest
By Nick Sparkes
January 19 2006
Toyota rounded off their week at Jerez with another solid effort from both of their drivers. Jenson Button continued to lead the way in his Honda hybrid, with Rubens Barrichello making it a Honda 1-2. Ralf Schumacher got the better of teammate Jarno Trulli, finishing third and sixth respectively.
Honda was the only Michelin team present today, with McLaren having left the day before.
Both Toyota’s ran smoothly apart from a brief off by Ralf Schumacher during the afternoon. Jarno Trulli continued to rack up the miles as well.
Between the two Toyota’s were the Williams Cosworth pairings of Alex Wurz and Nico Rosberg. Wurz again got the better of race driver Rosberg, but only by a couple of tenths.
Toyota will resume testing next week.
