Brunner leaves Toyota

Gustav Brunner has left his job as Toyota's chief designer, it is reported. Since 2002 the 55-year-old has worked at the Cologne factory but has had his fair share of disagreements with Mike Gascoyne, Toyota's technical director who joined in 2003.

It is now speculated that Mr Brunner, who joined the team from Minardi, did not leave voluntarily. F1 Forums suggest that maybe he was kicked out of the team for Mike Gascoyne – following disagreements -  in an effort to keep him at the team, following reports he wants to work in Britain. Whether there is any truth in this rumour is a whole different story.

We currently have no information of who his next employer should be.

Surely not F1's new poachers on the block, RBR...
