Jerez Day 2

Nine out of ten teams were out in action today (Thursday) in Jerez, Southern Spain, with the only piece missing from the puzzle the Minardi/STR outfit.

As we previously reported, Ralf Schumacher was not in action today because of a minor back problem. Jarno Trulli however undertook the German's duties, testing alongside Ryan Briscoe. Ryan and Jarno set the 5th and 6th fastest times respectively.

Luca Badoer set the fastest time of the day, despite completing only 13 laps, and then crashing heavily into the tyre wall. We are pleased to report that at the medical centre he was a bit shaken but 'ok'.

A new driver on track today was Belgian Jeffrey van Hooydonk. The rookie drove a V10 engined EJ15 in Midland livery, and set the 15th fastest time ahead of Jacques Villeneuve and fellow Midlander Tiago Monteiro, who were however running V8 engines.
