Mathematically we can draw. Realistically its over

With Ferrari now on 100 points after a strong drive by Michael Schumacher in Japan, and Toyota on 82, it is not mathematically impossible to end the season with the same amount of points as defending champs Ferrari.

Realistically however, it is impossible.

To tie on points we will need for both Ferrari's to score nil points in the finale at Shanghai, and for us to win and also have a driver in second, therefore giving us the 18 points we need.

And, after a disappointing first outing for the TF105B, I think we can agree that, with the likes of McLaren and Renault, the car is just not up to the job.

But there is no need to be downheartened. We have done a splendid job this year. At present, we have 66 more points than our best points-scoring season back in 2003, and the team can build on that as we enter the end to F1's busiest season in China.
