* Qualified in the top 8 on 6 occasions (Australia, Canada, Nürburgring, Hockenheim, Indianapolis, Suzuka)

* His average qualifying position in 2003 is 9th and is the 8th best average of all regular race drivers

* Best Friday qualifying result: 4th in Magny-Cours

* Equalled his personal best qualifying position of 3rd at the US Grand Prix

* Celebrated his 10 years in Formula 1 at his home race in Magny-Cours in July
