Germany: The best drive of my career

Lucky Strike BAR Honda's Jenson Button drove the best race of his career at the Hockenheimring today, and that's according to the Englishman himself.

Despite starting from a distant 13th on the grid, following a 10 slot penalty due to an engine change, Jenson charged up to second place by the end, standing on the podium for the seventh time this year.

"I'm so happy to have finished second and for me it was the best drive of my career," said an exultant Jenson Button. "If I had started third it could have been a different story - I could have put pressure on Michael which I would have enjoyed very much."

Team principal David Richards was well impressed too, saying "Jenson drove an immaculate race. I'm sure he'll say it was his best one ever. I've got no doubt about it, I'm sure he'll acknowledge that."

The result puts BAR just nine points behind Renault in the fight for second place in the Constructors Championship, while Jenson is now the only non-Ferrari driver still mathematically able to win the Drivers Championship.
