Fernando's future to be decided in two weeks.

Spain's double world champion Fernando Alonso has been given two weeks to prove his loyalty to his McLaren team. Should Alonso leave McLaren his only foreseeable options will be at either Renault or Toyota, who haven't confirmed their driver line up for next year. However, Alonso is becoming increacingly likely to stay with McLaren for 2008.

Fernando Alonso is contracted to McLaren for 2008, with an option to continue into 2009 if he wishes to do so. Throughout this year Fernando has speculated that McLaren are disadvantaging his car, in order to make Lewis faster. In Brazil, Alonso admitted that he was slower at Brazil hinting that it was really Fernando's fault.

He now has three main options on where he race in 2008.

Renault.

Fernando could move back to Renault, as he will have the team built around him and will have a number 1 position within the team. The downside is that Fernando wouldn't recive as much money as he did with McLaren, and there are still questions on whether Renault can provide him with a good enough car.

Toyota

The only advantage with moving to Toyota is a wage, reports have emerged that he will earn around $22 million a year, but the chances of having a race winning car.

McLaren

Fernando's last option is to stay with McLaren, he will have to concede that he will get nothing but equal treatment to his team mate, and he will have to work with his team, and not accuse them of slowing his car down.
