Current world driver championship leader Lewis Hamilton has recived a $15000 fine for breaching the Sporting Code and will have to give back the extra set of wet tyres that he used in the first practice session. Jenson Button and Takuma Sato will face the same penalty.

Hamilton was lucky to escape a serious penalty, which could of ranged from loss of world championship points or a grid demotion.

The stewards discussed what penalty Hamilton, Button and Sato would face, and decided that a $15000 penalty would be enough, this way the world could have a three way championship fight that they've all been waiting for.

The third practice session will start in six hours.
