Haug: We Don't Want Vettel

Mercedes Motorsport director Norbert Haug has insisted that the McLaren formula one team is not in talks with Sebastian Vettel over a possible drive in 2008. Vettels drive to a brilliant fourth place at the Chinese Gradn Prix last weekend has fueled these latest set of rumours about who will fill Fernando Alonso's 2008 McLaren seat.
Haug was quick to dismis these new rumours, but intrestingly didn't say that Fernando was going to stay at the team in 2008, could this mean that the Spaniard is going to leave McLaren in 2008?
"It is obvious that when a German driver is doing well in autosport that he is linked with the Silver team," Haug told German magazine Bild. "At the moment though there are no discussions with him to join our team."
Haug then talked about Vettel's performance; "Sebastian drove a very strong race. I'm really happy for him. I know him since he was racing in the ADAC-junior series and Formula 3 when he was racing with Mercedes engines. He even raced with Lewis Hamilton."
Whoever takes Fernando's seat if he leaves the team is waiting to be seen, it won't be Britians Jenson Button as he has confirmed that he will be driving for Honda in 2008.
