Hamilton Escapes Points Penalty

Current World Drivers Championship leader Lewis Hamilton has escaped a points penalty that threatened to take away the points which he scored in Japan last weekend. Hamilton was accused of causing the accident which denied both Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso of two possible podium positions.

After a few hours of disscussions the stewards declared that Lewis didn't deserve a penalty and also decided to lift the penalty that they imposed on Sebastian Vettel.

The stewards looked over a clip of the inident taken by a fan who filmed the incident and later on put it on the popular video site Youtube.

"I had a good weekend, I didn't put a foot wrong really. I didn't do anything to put other drivers in danger. I've come away to China and all of a sudden I'm going to be punished for something."

"I just think it's a real shame for the sport. Formula One is supposed to be about hard, fair competition. That's what I've tried to do this year, just be fair".
"I'm made to look like the bad person and, by the looks of it, this weekend be given a penalty" Hamilton stated to press reporters in China this weekend.

"If this is the way it's going to keep going it's not somewhere I want to be."

Who can blame Lewis? He did do nothing wrong, and if Lewis did leave Formula One the sport would be damaged beyond repair. Hamilton came into F1 and delivered record breaking results.

In some ways Lewis could be the saviour to Formula One, Fernando Alonso did it with Spain. Hamilton could easily do the same thing but to the whole world.
