British Press are a disgrace

The McLaren-Mercedes team did not contravene the sporting regulations at the Monaco Grand Prix, the FIA announced on Wednesday. The FIA launched an investigation into the tactics deployed by McLaren in Monte Carlo following a one-two finish on Sunday, after Lewis Hamilton speaking in the press conference revealed he had been asked to ease off in order to avoid risks in the race.

It was the first time since the infamous Austrian grand prix in 2002 that the FIA were looking into manipulation of the sport.

Well excuse me Mr and Mrs Red tops in Fleet Street the pinnacle of such quality journalism, but before Lewis appeared on the scene, what exactly was your f1 coverage?
A few column inches at the very best, and now suddenly the Newspaper responsible for bringing the world fake and fraudulent pictures from Iraq, have the nerve to claim the British public was "robbed of honour and pride and honesty and fair play".
As ITV.com-F1 reports Ron Dennis was involved in ‘a heated exchange’ with the Daily Mail journalist, accusing Ron of restricting Lewis from the media.
Lets not forget it is this same British Press who used to lead witch hunts against a certain driver, more so because they couldn’t stand the fact that he was German, and comprehensively beating the ‘British’ drivers and teams.
The British Press flirt with the realms of PC, they push the boundaries and they love to whip up a frenzy.
In Football they blamed a Portuguese player of the name of Ronaldo for England being knocked out of the World cup and having Rooney sent off.
Of course they were right, Ronaldo lifted Wayne’s leg and placed it upon Ricardo Carvalho’s chest, and Ronaldo also was to blame for England’s inept display through out the World Cup, and sent telepathic signals to the England players so they missed the vital penalties in the penalty shoot out.
It seem the British press are so inept at their job, they are resorting to rumours they have heard from paddock WAGS, for you and me, that means WIFE’S AND GIRLFRIENDS, saying that ground work was being made for Lewis to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari!
Of course I see Lewis, a childhood McLaren and Senna fan, having been supported by Ron and McLaren for ten years to suddenly after 5 races into his F1 career, decide to join a team that Ron Dennis has little time for.
Of course the WAGS are the most reliable source for F1 information *insert your own rolling of eyes here*, they probably know as much about F1 as these so called fleet street journalists do.
The media sensationalised this whole ’incident’ with McLaren and the ’fix’ probe at Monaco, but it stemmed from comments by Lewis Hamilton.
He made his annoyance been known at the press conference, he probably thought he was being quite cute with his words, ‘I have the number two on my car’. in reality it was far from cute, but no one can be hard on him, arguably, this was his first ‘real’ mistake, St Devote cost him nothing, his outburst at the press conference could cost him and his team vital points in both constructors and the world drivers title championship.
Well if the press were complaining about no access to Lewis before Monaco, after the way the press savagely manipulated the aftermath of the grand prix weekend, they should accept that they will have even little access to Hamilton now.
Ron is a man who likes his team to be seen as professional, classy and he has made it his top priority to have his drivers very media and corporate friendly.
Not saying the wrong things, steering clear of controversy, remember this is the man who had Hakkinen and Coulthard change their racing overall’s after a race before, so the logo’s of the sponsors was on clean racing overalls.
Ron will now be even more scathing and incensed and will be even more curt with certain sections of the press, and can you blame him?
Being accused of manipulating a result will hurt Ron and the team, a team and a man who prides himself on principles, he may not be the most popular, but he is a man of principle.
He never stood in the way of Prost having his manhood checked by Senna, why would he ‘protect’ Fernando from a rookie?
Ron and Sir Frank Williams are two team bosses known and respected amongst the paddock, they were both vocal in their belief of ‘equality’ and allowing their drivers to ‘race one another’.
Let’s be honest, who can say Fernando didn’t deserve his victory? I believed that Fernando had an answer for everything Lewis threw at him all weekend, Lewis may have caught Fernando, would he have passed him at a place like Monaco in equal machinery? Very unlikely!
The press had a personal agenda this weekend, they used this Monaco incident and turned it into something completely out of proportion, all because big bad wolf didn’t let the press ride the Hamilton Hype bandwagon.
The FIA and Max Mosley just wanted their names up in light, Mosley is to F1 what Graham Poll was to football, an attention seeker, who can not admit his faults and will pass the buck to everyone else but himself.
Mosley and Ron Dennis remember have never seen eye to eye with one another especially when it comes to keeping F1 democratic, was it so bad to ask the FIA to stay out of bed with Ferrari?
According to Company Magazine, Ferrari and certain people involved in the FIA are ‘drinking buddies’, draw your own conclusions there.
Then we have Bernie wading in with his opinions on the ‘fix’ at Monaco, honestly tell Bernie he needs to stay at home dressed in white, with his kitchen appliances. We all know the Bernie loves the sound of his own voice nearly as much as he loves money.
The FIA could not find McLaren guilty, as there is NO evidence to suggest they manipulated the grand prix result on Sunday, as Ron Dennis said:
"team strategy is what you bring to bear to win a grand prix. Team orders are what you bring to bear to manipulate a grand prix."
Only manipulation that happened was manipulation from the PRESS and not McLaren, people just need some perspective.
