Hamilton Soars To 1st

The 22 year old is currently leading the world championship along with Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen, is the youngsters extreme pace a hint of what is to come on Sunday? Its certainly possible as the McLaren’s are looking very competitive with the new bridge wing, which is what the team were running today.

Conditions on the track were dry, and the ninety minuet session was accompanied by some very minor incidents in which Red Bull driver David Coulthard and Spyker driver Chrsitijan Albers, went off the circuit both having separate problems.

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team finished one-two, certainly boosting the teams hopes of racing to the top step of the podium, but which driver will do it? Could Lewis Hamilton get his first ever race win? Or will the more experienced driver Fernando Alonso triumph in winning?

Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen ended the session third, indicating that Ferrari’s new car is fast, but maybe not fast enough to beat the ultra reliable and tremendously quick McLaren Mercedes MP4-22.

The young Brit had a best time of 1:21.880, underlining his extreme pace, and brilliant racing style.
