Red Bull Clear The Air And Focus On Canada

By Red Bull Racing
June 3 2010

Red Bull Racing drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel met with Christian Horner, Adrian Newey and Dr. Marko at the Red Bull Racing factory today in Milton Keynes, UK.

It was a positive meeting, which draws a line under the incident that happened on lap 40 of the Turkish Grand Prix. The team is now fully focused on next week's Canadian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel: The team had got us into a great position and it wasn't good for them what happened - so I'm sorry for them that we lost the lead of the race. Mark and I are racers and we were racing. We are professionals and it won't change how we will work together going forward. We have a great team and the spirit is very strong. I'm looking forward to Canada.

Mark Webber: It's a shame for the team, as we lost a good opportunity to win the race. It's sport and these things can happen, but it shouldn't have done. I feel for everyone at Red Bull, at the factory and everyone involved. Seb and I will make sure it doesn't happen again and will continue to work openly together, no problem. We have talked enough on it now, it's done, we're looking ahead and I'm focused on the race in Canada next week.

Bit late, it's all out now. If they'd done this Sunday evening and kept their traps shut pretty much the lot of them would've come out of it better off.

When I saw the shunt the above kind of picture/release was what I expected that night with the team shrugging it off. Bleh.

Agree - it's a bit late to put this out after all bitchy comments.

if one is foolish enough to believe in this 'spin' then no doubt you also believe in the tooth fairy.

the gloves are off and i hope that we see some intelligent racing but i very much doubt it. why? because vettel will still be favoured. he is RBR's big hope for the future. doesn't anyone think that right in the middle of all this argy bargy it is strange to hear that RBR are making public their desire to extend vettels contract for 5 years?

forget webbers arrangements and just look at this in the current context.

Mark: "That's right. You'd need balls this big to try that again".

Refreshing to see Mark understands there is no "I" in Team. I must admit I may have been wrong about him.

Sorry phat, but this press release is the equivalent of Whitey going "I was just joking!", why you quoted me I'm not sure, since I'm not a member of the team.

...but theres a 'me' in team, hrm, well this has ruined it all...

Nah, this the equivalent of you admitting Mark made a mistake in Malaysia only to retract it later.

Obviously you are not a TEAM member. That's the point.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're referring to.

None of us are team members as far as I'm aware, you don't need to post to make that point.
