Button released by WilliamsF1

Despite the comments from WilliamsF1 team principal Frank Williams that had Jenson Button driving for the team in 2006, the WilliamsF1 team has confirmed that Jenson Button will not be driving for the team in 2006> he will remain with his current team BAR.

After a period of negotiations an agreement was reached between both parties that released Button from his contract with the WilliamsF1 team.

Williams said: "As consideration for the release from the terms of his contract, Jenson has agreed a financial settlement with WilliamsF1.

"I am glad that we have brought this matter to a conclusion and we can return to what we do best - racing."

Button added: "I would like to thank Frank for accommodating a compromise to what was a binding contract and I regret the difficulties my decision has caused everyone involved."
