The BMW
WilliamsF1 Team would complete their penultimate test session of the 2005
season after their two day test at the Silverstone. The second day would
again see test drivers Antonio Pizzonia and Nico Rosberg sharing the driving
duties.
Over the two
days the pair would complete over 200 laps of testing. The second day
would see the team having to cope with wet conditions in the morning. Both
drivers would take the opportunity to test Michelin's wets and intermediate
tyres. They would also work on pit stops as well as race starts.
Antonio would complete sixty six
laps, with a best time of 1m:20.750. This would be the quickest time of the
day. Nico would complete the same number of laps with a best time of
1m:21.152.
WilliamsF1 Technical Director Sam Michael commented on the two days of
testing. He said: "Today we finished testing at Silverstone with Antonio and
Nico. Most of the day was spent testing intermediate tyres and working
through some comparisons for Michelin, but also on traction control and
starts. Rain hampered Thursday morning’s session but, towards the end of the
day, the track finally dried out which enabled us to finalise some work on
Suzuka tyre compounds.“ |
