For the BMW
WilliamsF1 team the opening day of testing at Silverstone would be both team
test drivers, Antonio Pizzonia and Nico Rosberg, present. This would be the
teams penultimate test of the season, as they prepare for the next round of
the championship in Brazil.
On
a sunny day both drivers would work on set-ups, in addition to carrying out
practice starts and pit stops. Antonio would complete thirty four laps, with
a best lap time of 1m:18.693. For his team-mate he would complete sixty one
laps with a best time of 1m:18.614. Antonio was to suffer a rear suspension
failure at Bridge corner, but did not hit anything and his car ended up in
the gravel.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim
Newton commented on the days testing. He said: "We had a productive day of
testing today with Antonio and Nico. Both drivers completed tyre evaluations
and suspension work. Antonio had a brief off this morning due to a fault on
the car but the problem was quickly identified and rectified allowing
Antonio to continue running this afternoon."
Both Antonio and Nico will be present for the last day of the testing. |
