Jordan driver Fisichella in accident

As the teams prepare for qualifying at the French Grand Prix, the second Saturday practice would be marred by a crash involving Jordan driver Giancarlo Fisichella. The session was stopped for almost half an hour.

Fisichella was to crash heavily after his car suffered a front wing failure mid way through the second corner. He would fly off the track and into the tyre barrier at high speed. He was able to extract himself from the car but was taken to Nevers hospital for precautionary checks. Whether he will be able to compete in qualifying is yet to be determined.
