There has been much discussion regarding when the BMW WilliamsF1 team will announce their full 2005 driver lineup. This will not take place until the 31st January at the launch of the 2005 FW27. Any announcements prior to this concern a new team sponsor and the 2005 colour scheme.

	There has been considerable discussion as to when the BMW WilliamsF1 team will make their announcement regarding who will partner Mark Webber in the 2005 championship. It would appear that this position in the team will fall to either current test driver Antonio Pizzonia or Nick Heidfeld. When questioned regarding what presentations and announcements the team would be making in the coming weeks a team member said: "On 6th January in Bahrain we will be presenting the team's '05 livery. It conjunction with this, we will be announcing a new sponsor, an official invite will be issued today to a press conference in London tomorrow. I obviously can not reveal what the sponsor is at this stage. "The next announcement will take place on 31st Jan in Valencia when we will be launching the FW27 and the new drivers." It is believed that the earlier announcement will be that of the Royal Bank of Scotland joining the team as an official sponsor, but this could not be confirmed.
