The FIA announced that both the BMW WilliamsF1 and Toyota teams weer disqualified from the results of the Canadian GP. This would see the WilliamsF1 team lose their second and fifth place finishes courtesy of Ralf and Juan Pablo. What a bitter-sweet finish to the weekend.

After the running of the Canadian Grand Prix it was revealed that both the BMW WilliamsF1 and Toyota teams were under investigation for running illegal brake ducts. After three hours an official announcement was made by the FIA which said that the cars from both teams had been excluded from the results of the race.

Ralf enjoys second place ... for a while at leastBoth teams had run their cars with illegal brake ducts which had been modified on Saturday. The Gilles Villeneuve circuit has always been hard on brakes and this year was no exception.

For the BMW WilliamsF1 team this announcement would see their drivers, Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya, lose their second and fifth placed finishes. For Toyota Cristiano da Matta's would lose his eighth place finish.

As a result of their exclusion the results of the race would now have Rubens Barrichello in second place. BAR-Honda's Jenson Button would now be third.

Sauber's Giancarlo Fisichella was classified fourth ahead of the McLaren of Kimi Raikkonen. David Coulthard would now be sixth while the two Jordan's of Timo Glock and Nick Heidfeld would now be seventh and eighth.

Both WilliamsF1 drivers were to express their disappointment when asked about the disqualification.
