| The BMW
WilliamsF1 team returned to testing, this time at the Jerez circuit for a
further five days of testing. Ralf Schumacher and test driver Marc Gene were
present for today's test programme. Both drivers were using the new FW26 as
the team continued to develop the new car in preparation for the opening
race in Australia.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton commented on the days testing by saying: "Ralf and Marc were on hand today to undertake testing duties for our first day at Jerez. Both drivers concentrated on set-up work of the FW26, Ralf in the 03 chassis and Marc in the 02. During the day, they completed some systems checks as well as doing tyre testing with Michelin. Tomorrow Juan Pablo will join Ralf to complete further set-up work on the new car." |

As
was the case in Barcelona the team had ideal sunny conditions on this day in
which to work through the various items on the test programme. This is the
second time in 2004 that the team has used this circuit.
