Jerez Test 12:01:2004 Day Six of Seven

On a day that saw only two cars take to the circuit BMW WilliamsF1's Ralf Schumacher would head Toyota's Ryan Briscoe on the sixth day of testing for the WilliamsF1 team at the Jerez circuit.

Ralf SchumacherEarly running on the circuit was hampered by thick fog but by midday conditions had improved to allow the teams to get back on track with their testing schedules.

For Ralf his day would see him continue the development testing of the new FW26. He would complete a race simulation without any problems, setting a fastest lap time of 1m:17.875. Ralf's time was a tenth of a second faster than Briscoe. Marc Gene was taking a well earned rest after five days of testing.

WilliamsF1 Chief Operations Engineer Sam Michael spoke of the days testing: “Despite the poor weather conditions this morning, Ralf successfully completed a full Grand Prix race simulation in the FW26 so we’ve had another positive day. Marc will re-join Ralf again tomorrow for the last day of the seven day test, during which both drivers will perform wet tyre testing with Michelin.”

Tomorrow, Ralf will be joined by Marc, when the team will carry out wet weather tyre testing on the circuit will be artificially flooded.
