The BMW WilliamsF1 team commenced another week of testing at the Jerez
circuit with Juan Pablo Montoya and Marc Gene carrying out the driving
duties. But the day would see the weather hinder the test schedule with
heavy rain falling on the circuit for the day. Despite the conditions the team would make use of them to further test tyres from tyre supplier, Michelin. The team would continue to test new wet weather tyre designs and compounds. The team also took the opportunity to test various wet weather set-ups.
Both drivers would see the conditions limit their track time but Montoya
would end the day with the fifth fastest time while Gene was in ninth. Juan Pablo did the tyre testing and Marc continued system checks with the new engine and gearbox. Juan Pablo Montoya and Marc Gené will both be undertaking testing duties again tomorrow." |
