Ralf could win title in 2004

After challenging for the 2003 Drivers title, only to fall away in the final series of races BMW WilliamsF1 driver Ralf Schumacher should be in with a strong chance of winning the 2004 title, or at least that's what his brother Michael feels.

Schumacher Brothers in JapanThe 2003 season would see Ralf challenge for the title, scoring points at each of the first ten races. He would also score two GP victories at the European and the French GPs.

But his season would fall apart, in particular when he was forced to withdraw from the Italian Grand Prix, after a testing accident. Had it not been for this Ralf's chances of the title would have been far better. He would go on to finish fifth in the drivers championship.

But 2004 will see him challenge for the title. He will be again powered by the powerful and reliable BMW engine mounted in the new FW26 chassis. After the strong showings of the FW25 in the second half of the 2003 season there is every reason to feel that the new FW26 chassis should continue this form..

Brother Michael is aware of the potential threat that this combination could pose for him in 2004. Michael said: "it is my goal to win my seventh title next year, I wouldn’t mind if Ralf would win the championship next year, indeed, I would be delighted if he would succeed in doing so. I know that he’s got what it needs to win the World Championship. There’s no doubt about that.”
