Gene has memorable season

For BMW WilliamF1's Marc Gené 2003 would see him continue his vital role as the teams test driver, nut he would also have the opportunity to race for the team at the Italian Grand Prix.

Marc would replace Ralf for this race as the German had injured himself in testing the week before. Marc would go on to finish fifth, scoring points for the team in his first race for the team.

On the BMW Motorsport website Marc spoke of his season and he also thanked several members of the team for their efforts during the season.

"I set the record in test kilometres with 26,000 kilometres completed and I have still three tests before the end of the year" Gené said. "In the aerodynamics department, we have Antonia Terzi, who has done her best, and we have a good team of engineers helping us a lot in different situations. I want to mention the Catalan Xevi Pujolà, who has been always next to me and supported me in all situations. The entire team has done that I feel like a winner. I really think that we should have won the title, but we are going to get it very soon."
