October 25 2026
In a continuation of the frustrations for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team coming from their practice sessions at the Circuit of the America's qualifying for the 2026 United States GP would see futher disappointments for the team. Both Carlos sainz and Alex Albon would be finish again well down the order with Carlos 19th and Alex 20th. Simply said the prospects for Sunday's race are not very good. A points result is not on the cards as the team continue to shift all their focus to 2027.

Alex Albon:
"Not the cleanest Saturday. We went out quite early at the end of
Q1, so we'll look at the run plan and review the data from today. I'm
still searching for rhythm with this car and the tyres. We're throwing
everything at it, and trying to maximise the pace that we do have, but
we also knew this track would expose our weaknesses. We might try
something different tomorrow and see what comes our way." |

Carlos Sainz:
"It’s been a tough weekend and probably more difficult than we
expected, however ahead of qualifying, we made some setup changes that
actually made the car feel better. My last lap was coming together very
well, with very strong first and second sectors, but I made a mistake
into turn 15 which potentially cost us some positions. In any case,
tomorrow’s race will be tough for us as I don’t expect our pace to be
enough to fight our way up the order. However, there are more things to
learn from the car and I’m looking forward to executing our best race
possible and see where that takes us." |

James Vowles, Team Principal:
"This weekend’s been tough since the first laps of FP1. We haven’t had
the pace. I think there was more in it today, we didn’t get it all
right, but the reality is it’s a few positions and the disappointment is
the gap to the top 10 is large. But that news isn’t new to us – we know
the challenge in front of us and what we have to accomplish for next
year. That doesn’t make it easier on any given weekend but we’ll give
our all tomorrow and carry on maximising our learnings for next year's
car."
