Team Summary:
After an encouraging Friday practice with their upgraded FW44 the Williams
Racing Team would be hoping to further refine the essentially new car. With
the start of the Saturday practice drivers would start to come out on a mix
of tyre types. On the soft tyre Alonso would go quickest with a 1m:34.826
but Ocon also on the soft would go quicker with a time of 1m:33.068. We had
both Ferrari's, McLaren's and Aston Martins all running with the Ferrari's
on the soft tyre. Both Alfa Romeo's were now running using the soft tyre. On
the medium Ricciardo was now quickest with a time of 1m:33.058 only to see

we had Perez came out.
Bottas was third followed by Zhou, Norris, Ricciardo, Ocon and Alonso.
Russell would join those running on the soft tyre. He would be followed by
Hamilton with ten minutes of the session completed. Perez would move into
second using the soft tyre. Hamilton was now third ahead of Sainz and Zhou.
Both Williams were now running on the soft tyre. Russell would just move in
front of his Mercedes teammate now third. Schumacher would go seventh while
after their first runs the Williams cars were now ninth and 14th. At the

drivers were currently 10th and 17th.
Sainz was able to improve to be third followed by Russell, Perez, Hamilton,
Alonso, Zhou, Schumacher and Bottas tenth. The Williams drivers were now
12th and 18th. As drivers completed their soft tyre runs the circuit would
become clearer with the Williams drivers now 14th and 19th. Ocon would
improve to be eighth seeing the Williams pair now 15th and 20th. The order
was now Verstappen, 1m:28.386, followed by Hamilton, Leclerc, Sainz,
Russell, Perez, Alonso, Ocon, Bottas and Zhou tenth. With twenty minutes
left in the session the track would again become very busy and we saw
Russell now third. Both McLaren's were running on the soft tyre for the
first time.
Leclerc was now in second ahead of Hamilton while Verstappen would set a
1m:27.901 to remain quickest. Perez was now in second while for Williams
their drivers were now 14th and 19th with five minutes remaining. With the
end of the session the drivers were again allowed to complete practice
starts on the grid. The order was Verstappen, Perez, Leclerc, Russell,
Hamilton, Sainz, Norris, Bottas, Schumacher and Alonso tenth. For the
Williams Racing Team they would finish the session in 14th and 19th with the
pair separated by 0.709s. Should we expect to see more from the upgraded
car. How much of that comes down to the car vs the driver? Qualifying should
give us a better view of the status of things.
