Canadian GP: Massa 7th fastest in FP3 for Williams Martini

Team Summary:
The final practice session would see Ricciardo set an early quickest time with a 1m:16.784 running on the ultra soft tyre. This time would drop to a 1m:15.278 but this was well off earlier times. Vettel would set a 1m:14.533, also on the ultra soft tyre. Ricciardo would set a 1m:14.924 but remained second, followed by Ocon and Hulkenberg. With fifteen minutes of the session completed we had yet to see either Williams car. Both Mercedes cars were out on the super soft tyre with Hamilton now second but Ricciardo and Sainz would move ahead. Hamilton was now fourth followed by Bottas but Bottas would move up into third now behind the Ferrari's of Vettel and Raikkonen. Vettel had set a 1m:13.766. Forty minutes remaining and both Williams drivers were out on the track.

Hamilton and Bottas were now second and third followed by Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Kvyat, Sainz, and Ocon eighth. Vettel had set a 1m:13.105 and Hamilton a 1m:13.516 but on the harder tyre. After their first times the Williams drivers were eleventh and fourteenth. Alonso would improve to be sixth behind Sainz. With under thirty minutes remaining and Vettel was still leading. Raikkonen would move up to second with a 1m:13.017. Both Williams drivers had pitted while at the front Vettel would go quicker with a 1m:12.704 and Raikkonen setting a 1m:12.864. A 1m:12.572 from Vettel would see him open the gap to Raikkonen. Verstappen was now fourth running on the super soft tyres. Both Mercedes cars were now out on the ultra soft tyres.

Bottas would set a 1m:13.332 to now be third followed by Hamilton. But Hamilton would set a 1m:13.078 to move into third. A 1m:13.301 from Bottas but he would remain fourth. Bottas would improve with a 1m:13.210 while Hamilton would set a 1m:12.926 but neither Mercedes would change their positions. Both Williams drivers had returned to the track. Verstappen was now out on the ultra soft tyre, with the top four all back in the pits. A 1m:13.264 from Verstappen seeing him remain fifth. He would improve with a 1m:12.965 to be fourth behind Hamilton. The top ten was Vettel, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Verstappen, Bottas, Hulkenberg, Felipe, Ricciardo, Ocon and Sainz. The session would end with the Williams drivers seventh and eighteenth. A competitive result from Felipe but Lance was not able to set any quick times despite been on the softer tyre.

Felipe Massa:
Felipe would come out for his first run using the super soft tyre. Felipe would set a 1m:16.401 to be twelfth one place behind his team-mate. Felipe would tell his engineer that traffic was an issue. Felipe would improve with a 1m:15.069 but was now thirteenth. Felipe was able to find further time setting a 1m:14.657 to be eleventh. Felipe would pit after a ten lap run. He would drop to twelfth while he was in his pit. Felipe was back out running on the ultra soft tyre and he would set a 1m:14.353 to be eleventh with eight minutes remaining. He would drop to thirteenth despite having set a 1m:14.122. Felipe would complain to the team that they need to tell him what other drivers are doing after getting in Alonso's way. A 1m:13.778 would see Felipe move into tenth as the session drew to a close. A 1m:13.527 from Felipe would see him move into seventh. Felipe would pit having completed a ten lap run with his quickest times coming late in this run.

Lance Stroll:
Lance would come out for his first run this time on the ultra soft tyre for the first time. Lance would set a 1m:15.898 to be eleventh. A 1m:15.107 from Lance would be an improvement but was now behind his team-mate in fourteenth. He would improve with a 1m:14.791 but would remain fourteenth. Lance had also completed ten laps when he had pitted. Lance was now seventeenth with twenty minutes remaining. With under fifteen minutes remaining Lance would come back out on a new set of ultra soft tyre and he would set a 1m:14.731 to be sixteenth. Lance had made a mistake at the chicane losing him time. Lance would set a 1m:14.455 to now be fourteenth. He would drop to eighteenth even though he would again improve with a 1m:14.409.
