Brazilian GP: FP3 sees Williams Martini remain in top ten

Team Summary:
After rain in the morning the track conditions had changed as the Williams Martini team prepared for the final practice session for the 2016 Brazilian GP. The track was drying out as the session commenced. The full wet would be the tyre of choice as the drivers completed their installation laps. Hamilton would be the first driver to come out on slicks running on the soft tyre. Fifteen drivers had taken to the track but neither Red Bull car had yet to come out. A slow 1m:20.910 from Hamilton as Wehrlein also came out on soft's. A 1m:16.980 from Hamilton as Wehrlein pitted. Hamilton would also pit while Valtteri would go quickest while Felipe would move up to third. Felipe would move ahead of his team-mate with Ocon now third.

The track was becoming busy with Magnussen moving up to third followed by Wehrlein. But Verstappen would go third but on the medium tyre. Raikkonen would go quickest with a 1m:12.860 followed by the Williams pair. Ricciardo was now second running on the medium tyres. Raikkonen would improve with a 1m:12.530 as Hulkenberg went second. But Vettel would go second with a 1m:13.198 followed by Hulkenberg, Verstappen, Ricciardo, and Felipe. Verstappen was now third ahead of Ricciardo with both still on the medium tyre. Vettel had improved with a 1m:12.661 to be just 0.131 behind his team-mate. Both Mercedes cars were outside the top ten but were on longer runs. Grosjean was able to move up to sixth seeing Felipe now seventh. Both Williams drivers were on longer runs on the soft tyre as a large number of drivers pitted.

Twenty minutes remaining in the session Kvyat was up to eleventh with Sainz right behind. Ricciardo would go quickest with a 1m:12.287 running on the soft tyre. Drivers were starting to come out on new sets of soft tyres in what was their qualifying simulations. Verstappen would go quickest with a 1m:12.077 but Rosberg would go ahead with a 1m:11.787. Palmer was sixth and Magnussen seventh with the Williams drivers fifth and eighth. Hamilton would set a 1m:11.833 to be second, 0.093 behind Rosberg. Alonso was now tenth while Rosberg had improved slightly with a 1m:11.740. Vettel would go third followed by Raikkonen, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Valtteri, Palmer, Felipe and Alonso tenth. With the end of the session the Williams drivers were in seventh and ninth well ahead of their Force India rivals.

Valtteri Bottas:
Valtteri would follow his team-mate out also on the full wet tyre. He would also pit after a single lap. Valtteri would join Hamilton also on the soft tyre. Valtteri was struggling on a track that was still quite damp. He was able to set a 1m:15.048 and then would improve with a 1m:13.942. Valtteri would pit having completed six laps. Valtteri would also return to the track currently eighth. He would drop down to ninth behind Grosjean. Valtteri would pit briefly but would return having completed seventeen laps on the set of soft tyres. Valtteri would join his team-mate out on a new set of soft tyres and would set a 1m:12.614 to be fifth behind Raikkonen. He would drop to sixth and would pit briefly after his run. He would come back out pitting the following lap. Valtteri would drop to seventh as the session drew to a close.

Felipe Massa:
Felipe would be first out for Williams running on the full wet tyre. He would pit after a single lap. Felipe would join his team-mate also running on the soft tyre. On his first lap Felipe would set a 1m:24.266 but was able to continue and set a 1m:13.848 to be quickest. Felipe would also pit having completed five laps. Felipe had dropped to fourth and was back out again still on the used soft tyre. Felipe would drop to sixth then seventh behind Grosjean. Felipe would pit having completed sixteen laps on the soft tyre. Felipe would return currently in eleventh on a new set of soft tyres. Felipe would set a 1m:12.990 to be seventh but he would drop to eighth. This would become ninth with just under ten minutes remaining. Felipe would also pit briefly but would also return to his garage.
