The results of the 2015 Belgian GP would see a double points finish for the Williams Martini team with Felipe Massa finishing 6th and team-mate Valtteri Bottas 9th. Despite the points scoring result the Williams team still struggled with the pace of the FW37 as well as a costly mistake that would see Valtteri get a incorrect tyre at his first pit stop seeing him receive a drive through penalty and drop down the order.

Qualifying for the 2015 Belgian Grand Prix would see Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa finish in third and seventh. Felipe would start the race from sixth as a result of penalties to other drivers. On pole would be Hamilton followed by team-mate Rosberg. The forty four lap race would see a change in regard to the start rules which would see more of the start been put onto the driver in terms of operation of the clutch. Perez was fourth followed by Ricciardo and Felipe. The top ten would be completed by Maldonado, Vettel, Grosjean, and Sainz. The weather reports had a 30 percent chance of rain during the race.

The grid would move away with the drivers getting use to the level of bit in their clutches. Hulkenberg would complain to his team that he had no power and he was told to pit. This was changed and he was told to take the start. The field would return to the grid and would take up their positions but Hulkenberg would wave from his cockpit and the start would be aborted and the field would move away for another formation lap. Hulkenberg would be moved back into the pit lane. Sainz would also say that he had no power as he went around the second formation lap. The race distance was now forty three laps as the grid formed up. Sainz was told to go into the pits.
