The final practice session for the 2012 Hungarian GP would again see Williams F1 driver Bruno Senna perform well setting the fourth fastest time. Team-mate Pastor Maldonado was down in eleventh making it quite possible that both drivers will make it into the final period of qualifying.

For the Williams F1 team Friday practice for the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix would see Bruno Senna finish in third while team-mate Pastor Maldonado was down in twelfth. Pirelli had brought the medium and soft tyre for the weekend but rain late in the second Friday practice had limited the teams testing of the soft tyre. The Saturday practice would commence under dry conditions with Kovalainen first out. Both Bruno and Pastor would take to the track early with more drivers following. Bruno would pit after one lap but Pastor would continue with only Hulkenberg yet to take to the circuit. Rosberg was also on a timed lap but Pastor would abort his lap returning to his pit.

Hulkenberg would come out as Rosberg set a 1m:31.902. More drivers would set times with Vettel going fastest with a 1m:24.537 followed by Ricciardo and Webber. Vergne would set a 1m:24.212 to be fastest but Webber would move ahead with a 1m:23.359. Ricciardo was now second followed by Vergne, Vettel, Button, Rosberg, and Schumacher. Hulkenberg would move into third with a lap time of 1m:23.850. Vergne's time was a 1m:23.783. Both Hulkenberg and Ricciardo were in the 1m:23s as Webber improved with a 1m:23.241, as Hulkenberg moved up to second, 1m:23.375. Bruno would be the first Williams driver to come back out while at the front Vettel would go fastest with a 1m:23.058.

Grosjean was fifth with a time of 1m:23.647 as Vergne pitted. Grosjean would go off at Turn four but was able to continue. On his second lap Raikkonen would go fastest with a 1m:22.718. Bruno's first lap would see him ninth with a 1m:26.151. We had yet to see either Ferrari come out or Pastor with forty five minutes remaining. Both Webber and Vettel had pitted as we now had Pastor out on the circuit. Hulkenberg was now second with a 1m:23.008 while Grosjean had moved up to fourth, 1m:23.156. Prior to pitting Webber had gone off at Turn six but was able to continue.

Hamilton was on the track and his first run would see him sixth, 1m:23.178. Perez was in seventh while Bruno was eleventh. But his next lap would see him set a 1m:23.052 to be third. Everyone was running on the medium tyre for their first runs. With forty minutes remaining we still had yet to see either Massa or Alonso. Pastor's first effort would see him ninth with a 1m:23.470. As Hamilton and Grosjean moved into second and third Bruno had dropped to fifth. Hamilton's time was a 1m:22.773. Pastor would improve to be seventh with a time of 1m:23.089. Hulkenberg was now fourth followed by Bruno, Vettel, Pastor, Kobayashi, Webber, and Perez in tenth. Hamilton would move to the top of the times with a 1m:22.224 to be 0.494 ahead of Raikkonen, still running on the medium tyre. Pastor had also found time setting a 1m:22.997 to be fifth. But this would become sixth as Perez moved up to second with a 1m:22.597.

Hamilton was on an even quicker lap setting a 1m:21.706, possibly on lower fuel. Raikkonen was second with Vergne now third. Vergne was now on the soft tyre joined by Vettel. Vettel would use these times to set a 1m:21.671. Both Bruno and Pastor had pitted joined by Hamilton. With thirty two minutes remaining Bruno and Pastor were in eight and ninth as Webber moved up to third with a 1m:21.871. With thirty minutes remaining Vettel was still fastest from Hamilton, Webber, Raikkonen, Vergne, Perez, Ricciardo, Alonso, Grosjean, and Bruno in tenth. Pastor was now eleventh while Webber was on a quick lap going fastest with a 1m:21.550. Alonso's time for eighth was a 1m:22.754, with Massa down in fourteenth. Both of the Mercedes cars were at the bottom of the times. Massa would improve to be ninth as Alonso set a 1m:22.460 to be fifth.

Bruno was back out this time on the softs, joined by Pastor. Bruno and Pastor were now in eleventh and twelfth but Bruno would use his soft tyres effectively to set a 1m:21.876 to be fourth, just 0.3 behind Webber. Pastor was back out on the track along with Grosjean. Grosjean was also on the soft tyre and would improve to be fifth with a 1m:22.110. Pastor had also improved with a 1m:22.381 to be seventh. Bruno would pit as Vettel came back out. While Hamilton was in third team-mate Button was down in fifteenth. We now had Rosberg back out on the track and he would improve to be fifteenth, 1m:23.256. Both Red Bull cars were out on the track while both Williams drivers had pitted. Fourteen minutes remaining and Webber was still fastest with his time set on the soft tyre. Schumacher was now in sixteenth, 1m:23.639, while Alonso was eighth, 1m:22.460.

Alonso was back out on the soft tyre joined by Hamilton. Alonso would set a 1m:21.884 to be fifth. With this Pastor had dropped to be eighth. On Pastor's car the team was adjusting the ride height of his car to get some better braking stability. On the soft tyre Hamilton would set a 1m:21.643 to be second. Massa was up in eighth with a 1m:22.136 as Di Resta moved up to ninth with a lap of 1m:22.191. With the track now very busy both Williams cars were still in their pits with seven minutes remaining. But both Bruno and Pastor would come back out leaving just three cars in the pits. With four minutes remaining Alonso was the only car in the pits. Raikkonen would also pit joined by Hamilton. Bruno was still fourth while Pastor had dropped to tenth.

With the end of the session Webber would remain fastest from Hamilton and Vettel. Bruno would remain in fourth followed by Alonso, Raikkonen, Grosjean, Massa, Di Resta, and Pastor still tenth. Schumacher and Rosberg were down in seventeenth and eighteenth while Button was down in eleventh but on his last lap he would move up to tenth pushing Pastor to eleventh. Again it was a good performance from Bruno to be well inside the top ten showing that his Friday times were not one off's. Pastor was just outside so it is looking promising for the Williams team as they try to get both Williams drivers into the final period of qualifying.
