The final practice session for the 2011 Italian Grand Prix would see the AT&T Williams F1 team again find the going difficult with Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado finishing in fifteenth and eighteenth.  Given their pace qualifying could be a very brief session for the Williams team. The team may decide to save their tyres knowing that they have no real chances of securing a top ten starting position.

After a difficult Friday practice for the 2011 Italian Grand Prix that saw both AT&T Williams F1 cars off the pace and down in fifteenth and sixteenth the final practice would show if the team could find any extra pace from the FW33. With the start of the session both Rubens and Pastor would take to the track early joined by the majority of the field. Last to come out would be Vettel and Button followed by Hamilton. With Hamilton the only driver on the track Massa would come back out. Hamilton would pit while D'Ambrosio came back out. Massa
would pit while Kovalainen and Trulli were out on the track. Rosberg would be next out joined by Di Resta and Schumacher. Alonso would be the first of the Ferrari's to come back out as D'Ambrosio set a 1m:32.578.

More drivers started to leave the pit lane while Kovalainen was now fastest with a 1m:29.327. Trulli was now second while for Williams Rubens would be the first to take to the track. Pastor would follow him out as the track became very busy. Alonso would pit seeing only the Ferrari's, Vettel, and Hamilton still in their pits. Rosberg would be second with a 1m:29.453 but more drivers would go faster with Schumacher moving to the top
of the times with a 1m:26.943. Perez was now second while Rosberg had moved up to third. Di Resta moved into third with a 1m:27.185 while Schumacher also improved with a 1m:26.153.

Alguersuari was now fifth having been second just before. Rosberg would improve with a 1m:24.688 while Weber was now second, 1m:25.163. Rubens had dropped to thirteenth while Pastor had come out and moved into fifth but it would become sixth,
1m:26.450. Hamilton was now third while Button was fourth. Rosberg would pit while Rubens would improve to now be in ninth, 1m:26.657. Now it was Button's turn to go fastest with a time of 1m:24.489. Vettel had moved up to fifth, 1m:25.576, while Perez was in sixth. Pastor would take this spot with a time of 1m:25.656. Vettel was now fourth, 1m:24.816, while team-mate Webber would go fastest with a 1m:24.468.

Rubens would also find some pace moving into seventh, 1m:25.924, one place behind Pastor. Rubens would pit with thirty four minutes remaining. Hamilton had improved his time with a 1m:24.501 but remained third. Petrov would take seventh from Rubens as the track became empty after the first runs. We only had the Ferrari's yet to set times. Vettel was on an improve d lap, fastest in sector two and three, moving to the top of the times with a 1m:24.000. Both Alonso and Massa would come out with Alonso's first time seeing him eleventh, 1m:26.027. More drivers would start to return to the track as Massa moved into seventh, 1m:25.850. Alonso would move into this spot with a 1m:25.767, as Rosberg came back out followed by Button. Pastor was still in sixth while Rubens had dropped to tenth. Massa would take sixth with a time of 1m:25.647 but again team-mate Alonso would take this spot, 1m:25.247. This would see Pastor drop to eighth.

Rosberg was out on the soft tyre as Alguersuari set a 1m:25.580 also on the soft tyre to be eighth. More drivers were coming back out for their soft tyre runs, including Pastor. Rosberg would use the soft tyres to good effect to go fastest with a 1m:23.875. On the soft tyre Perez would move into eighth, 1m:25.505, as Rosberg pitted. Rubens was still in his pit with twenty minutes remaining as Pastor dropped to eleventh as Buemi moved into tenth, 1m;25.607. Schumacher would improve from fourteenth up to third with a 1m:24.114.
Webber was now fourth while Rubens was now out on the track with Vettel coming out shortly after. Hamilton was out still on the medium tyre. For team-mate Button his car was been worked on by his mechanics as they made setup changes. Perez was now seventh, 1m:25.004, while Pastor and Rubens were now twelfth and fourteenth.

Webber would pit still in fourth with a time of 1m:24.162. Hamilton would also pit while Pastor would also come in. With thirteen minutes remaining Rosberg would come back out while Vettel was on the track on a longer run. Rubens would also pit finishing his run on the medium tyre. Ninth placed Alonso was back out on the soft tyre joined by Massa. Kobayashi was now tenth, 1m:25.261, as Alonso moved up to fourth, 1m:24.133, as Webber came back out, joined by Button. Massa was on a quick lap, getting a tow from Alonso, and he would set a 1m:24.346 to only be sixth. Rubens was back out joined by most of the field. Both Williams cars were out on the soft tyre as we had Button move into second with a 1m:23.896. Only Ricciardo was still in the pit as we had Webber on an improved lap. Massa would go fastest with a 1m:23.668 but he was beaten by Webber with a 1m:23.569.

Vettel was also on a good lap as Hamilton moved into sixth, 1m:24.095. Vettel with finish with a 1m:23.758 to be third. With three minutes remaining Webber would improve his time with a 1m:23.534. Pastor and Rubens would be seventeenth and eighteenth, as Senna moved into fourteenth, 1m:25.316. Rubens would improve but could only manage fifteenth. Pastor was now in eighteenth as Webber pitted. Senna would improve to be ninth, 1m:24.853, as Pastor pitted. Vettel would set the quickest time with thirty seconds left in the session, with his time a 1m:23.170, to be 0.364 ahead of his team-mate.

With the end of the session it would be Vettel fastest from
Webber, Massa, Rosberg, Hamilton, Button, Rosberg, Schumacher, Alonso, Sutil, and Di Resta tenth. For the Williams team their early pace in the session faded away as the quicker times were set with Rubens and Pastor only in fifteenth and eighteenth. Given their pace qualifying could be a very brief session for the Williams team. The team may decide to save their tyres knowing that they have no real chances of securing a top ten starting position.
