Objectives P1 • Evaluation of new aero parts including a new exhaust system, rear wing and brake ducts • Testing of Pirelli’s new super hard tyre Objectives P2 • Further evaluation of the team’s new aero parts • Qualifying set‐up work |
Rubens Barrichello:
![]() "We have tested all the new parts we have in Barcelona. On track, the rear wing looked alright but we need to look closer at how the new floor performed. It was very hot today so the grip level was lower and therefore the car was sliding more and tyre wear was greater. The car was oversteering a bit as well. I think we need to look at this for the weekend to try to minimise the problems and maximise our set‐up, but I think at this stage we’d be looking at four stops minimum in the race on Sunday." |
Pastor Maldonado:
![]() "I think today was good overall. We completed our full testing programme which I’m happy about and we also did a few longer runs in FP2. It’s difficult to compare ourselves to other teams as we don’t know what they were doing, but everything seems to be going well. We have a number of upgrades but we still need time to analyse the data." |
Sam Michael
Technical Director WilliamsF1 "We
went through all of our programme today which included running the new
aero parts on both cars at various stages. We have plenty of data to
look at tonight to finalise the specification that we'll race this
weekend. Some parts of the floor are certainly on the limit, so we'll
take that into consideration. We didn't have any reliability issues
today."

What's there to lose? A reliable 14th and 17th in the race? Whoop-de-whoop.

Yeah, that's one problem more, they don't have enough balls to try things, and to be brave on the design.

Crusty's TD fanatsy...
job 1- stick some duct tape around the inside of the exhausts and send them out with the new designs- that aught to delay the melting of the exhausts by a couple of corners...
job 2- tell Tomlinson to look lively and add an extra level to the front wing by Monaco- it's design is looking as tired as he does.
job 3- get some Renault engines in the back of the car
job 4- tell Parr to make me a cup of tea.

Sam"Some parts on the floor are certainly on the limit"
The team have 5 weeks to get the new exhuasts sorted out but the dident so no new exhuast for qualy and race.
And to think that they have in mind wins for this year.
Disapointmend is the least that you can feel and if you look at saubers you want to cry.

I don't understand why don't make the floor with pyrosic material like McLaren did and like Red Bull does...

How is that they haven't figured out temperatures by now?
They can get a variable temperature tire functioning properly adaptively on a track but they can't gauge the exhaust heat?
