The third day
of testing for the WilliamsF1 team at the Jerez circuit would see Nico
Rosberg replace test driver Alex Wurz. The team continued their preparations
for both the German Grand Prix and the race in Hungary. The team would
continue testing suspension setups as well as tyre testing.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager
Mike Condliffe commented:
“Today Nico was driving here at Jerez, the first time at this circuit since
early February. We were testing new aero parts and cooling options in
preparation for the Budapest race. We then continued with some set-up
changes and the suspension testing we started yesterday before moving onto
the usual compound tests.”
On a positive note it would
appear that the testing carried out by Alex Wurz on the first two days would
have resolved the tyre problems that the team suffered during the French
Grand Prix.
In an interview for autosport.com Alex said:
"We have done some work on the tyre issues. I
have not had to change anything on my side, it is the team that have made
some changes.
"We didn't have the same problem recurring, so I think we are okay." |
