Arrows are in Germany, but will they compete?

The F1 news site DailyF1News reports that the Arrows team are now in Germany, and that the engineers and marketing staff will arrive today, completing the team’s complement of staff. The team have again stated that they’ll do everything they can to compete this weekend.

The question the news site now asks is whether the team will compete or do a repeat performance of France. As was reported yesterday, there are unsubstantiated reports that the FIA are prepared to take action against the team, should they choose to only participate in the qualifying session in order to avoid a non-competing fine.

DailyF1News is the only site to carry any kind of quote on this subject, and it still lacks credence because it comes from an un-named source. “If Arrows try to do what they did in France again at Hockenheim then the race director is very likely to prepare a report for the stewards,” a source close to the governing body was quoted as saying.

The site was able to talk to Arrows about the possible situation in Germany, and reveals that the High Court injunction against the sale of the team has been retained and that lawyers have advised the team not to complicate the issue by ‘doing too much’ on the race track (whatever that means ?).

“Tom Walkinshaw has said we will do literally everything we can to make sure we can do the full weekend,” Lindsay Morle said to DailyF1News yesterday. “We want to compete fully in the German Grand Prix. Further than that there is no update yet.

“The entire team is in Hockenheim, ready to go.”

First practice in Germany starts at 10:00 UK time, so this site is guessing that we’ll all know for sure then.
