Arrows hold an F1 record according to Reuters

I’ll bet visitors didn’t know that the Arrows GP team actually hold a Formula One record. Sadly, it isn’t for the most wins, or the most points scored, or the all-time fastest speed in an F1 car. Unfortunately it relates to the team’s lack of success in the sport, but is interesting all the same.

According to Reuters, after the British Grand Prix last weekend, the team have competed in 381 races without scoring a single win. The news agency believes that this is a record in the sport. I’m sure if Reuters have got their facts wrong that someone will point it out on this site’s message board.

The closest the team came to a win in recent years was a second place by Damon Hill in 1997. This came in Hungary, where Damon led for the majority of the race, but suffered an hydraulic seal failure two laps from the end of the race, gifting the win to former Williams team-mate Jacques Villeneuve.
