Arrows will be testing at Silverstone this week !

They need it !

OrangeArrows are finally, for the first time since the Australian Grand Prix a little over 6 weeks ago, taking to the test track in a bid to crack the reliability issues that have plagued the team so far. Car balance also seems to be an issue, and no doubt that will be looked at also.

The race team suffered another crushing disappointment at Imola on Sunday when both cars retired from strong race positions. On site visitor has even mentioned that team boss Tom Walkinshaw stormed out of the garage when the failures occured. Lots of respected media sources and the fans now know that the team have to develop this car in order for it to achieve it's full potential. It has definate race pace, and is an even match for the similarly powered Jaguar cars, but reliability is preventing any chance of the team really showing what it can do.

As if in answer to the fans prayers, the post San Marino Grand Prix press release confirmed that the team will be attending the three day at Silverstone this week. "The team's test crew are preparing for Silverstone for an intensive test programme at Silverstone this week," reads the OrangeArrows' website race story. "Heinz-Harald Frentzen will be at the wheel of the sole A23 from Tuesday to Thursday."

Technical Director, Mike Coughlan, expressed fustration at the teams start to the season after the San Marino Grand Prix, and it is clear what the team are going to be looking at at the test. "We are testing at Silverstone next week," Coughlan said after the race on Sunday, "So believe me we will be putting in a few race distances !"
