An important week in Arrows’ history

The presses (especially those that run with regard to the Arrows team) have been a bit quiet over the week just gone. Since Tuesday, when the team submitted their explanation to the FIA, the popular news sites have been struggling for coverage, apart from a surprise appearance at Monza!

While the team await some kind of response from the FIA as to what action the governing body may take, it appears that the lawyers don’t get a break. The team are in court this week facing two actions. Meanwhile, FIA president Max Mosley is currently on business in America and is not expected back in the UK until early next week. This has lead to speculation that the FIA are waiting for the court hearings to take place before deciding on any action.

A hearing is due to take place in Leeds on Tuesday, with the first action said to be brought by a recruitment agency and the second by lawyers representing Jos Verstappen, claiming £2million in lost earnings. Jos will undoubtedly join a long line of creditors if the team is wound up as a result of these hearings.

To add another twist to the unfolded story, Arrows trucks turned up at the Monza test last week and parked up in their allotted places behind the pit garages. ITV broke the news and were clueless as to why they were there. At first it looked as if the team were going to participate in the test, but when they didn’t appear further speculation started linking the move with an FIA ‘sweetener’ from the team.
