Webber Targets 11th February Return

Mark Webber has targetted the 11th February as the date he will return to the wheel of a Formula One car. The Australian expects to be behind the wheel of the new RB5 two days after its launch at Jerez.

It has been just under three months since Mark broke his leg in a cycling accident whilst taking part in his annual charity challenge in Tasmania.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live Mark commented "I'm looking forward to driving the car in three weeks,"

"I'm going to have a crack at driving the car on 11 February, and then we'll see how that goes."

"If it goes really well, I'll be back in on 13 February. Then I've got three more tests - Jerez, Valencia and then our last test in Barcelona, with all the teams together - before we go off to Australia."

Webber went on to say that his recovery was going well, and even though the accident had obviously affected his conditioning, it won't have an impact on the way he drives. He is confident that by the time he reaches the grid at Melbourne, he will be fully back in shape.
