The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes formula one team have finished the second practice session of this years Grand Prix at Bahrain. Race drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton ended the session in 3rd and 4th places respectively. Lewis might struggle during the weekend, as he had a big crash at turn seven. Luckily he is unhurt.

Ferrari continued their dominance of the Bahrain International Circuit by finishing first and second, in the second practice session, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen finished in first and second place, the two were separated by a huge nine tenths of a second. Clearly Felipe Massa is trying to impress his Ferrari boss’s with his sheer pace.

Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton finished in 3rd and 4th places for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team. Lewis had a big shunt in the closing minutes of the session, which must have shook him up, Lewis ran wide at the exit of turn 6, his car swapped ends leaving Lewis nothing but a passenger as he slid into the barrier. It shouldn’t slow down Lewis’s setup work at all, since he crashed towards the end of the session.

BMW driver Robert Kubica ended the session in 5th place, with his more experienced team-mate finished in 17th. Nico Rosberg in the Williams continued his excellent pace by finishing in 6th place, while Kazuki Nakajima in the sister car finished in 8th, behind David Coulthard in the Red Bull.
