McLaren's Fine Due In December

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes formula one team will have to pay the $50 Million fine that they received in this years spying scandal involving McLaren and Ferrari. The team are currently filing an appeal to the Brazilian Grand Prix results to try and gain a couple more points which would see them beat Ferrari's 204 points. If the appeal is successful the team will have to pay $20 million less.

Even if the appeal is succsessful, the team will still lose $100 million of the teams money and will make a loss in this year, and maybe in next.

"Following the judgement of the World Motor Sport Council on 13 September, a sum in excess of $50 million will be paid in December to the FIA. This will be used to establish the FIA Development Fund, which will assist the work of National Sporting Authorities in promoting the development of safer motor sport worldwide, especially in countries where the motor sport infrastructure is in need of support."

McLaren and Ferrari representatives are invited to join the funds board.

The $100 million will help the development of safer motorsport.
