FIA To Protect Fernando Alonso

The FIA's comments come after reigning world champion Fernando Alonso, provided the World Motor Sports Council with crucial evidence which helped the WMSC punish McLaren in the recent Formula one spy gate. Max Mosley has thanked Fernando for shedding light to this sport damaging affair. Max has pledged to Fernando that he will monitor McLaren's actions towards the Spaniard to protect him.

Max is reported to be worried about possible vengeance against the two time world champion, as Fernando's evidence gave McLaren a enormous $100 million fine and lost them any world championship points that they may score and have scored this season.

"If they do anything wrong against Alonso, they will have to answer to us in Paris and we will do what is necessary," Mosley said to La Gazzetta della sport.

"He was the only one on his team who did the right thing," Mosley said. "With Alonso's emails we obtained certainty (about the case)," he added. 
 

I can see why the FIA want to do this, to protect Fernando, but isn't the management of the team and who's driving your team down to the team boss (Ron Dennis) not the FIA.

If Fernando is to leave McLaren, it will be his decision, not the teams decision, as another lawsuit could be on the cards, if McLaren start to favor Lewis instead of Fernando.
