Ron Dennis has given his approval and support to Bernie Ecclestone’s suggestion of night races to be staged in F1.

Ron Dennis was quick to stress only if all safety factors could be met, and that it was financially viable and sensible to do so.

"We are absolutely in favour, provided the races are safe, and I think they can be," Dennis told Autosprint magazine. "If we must have a late night to race somewhere, we'll do it.

"The only problem is: what happens if there is a power outage? You could object that a system with emergency generators could be efficiently set up. But it's a rather costly matter.

"I've thought about it and I concluded that if there was a mobile, specifically-designed system, with its cost to be shared among the various circuits, then it could be taken from one place to another, avoiding the ugly sight of a useless lighting structure."
