Korean Grand Prix 2011 - Preview

The Formula 1 wagon has moved to Korea for the next round of the 2011 season. Although the WDC has been concluded and the WCC is almost certain to go to RedBull, there is still much to play for.

Last season this race provided Ferrari with a near perfect result. Fernando Alonso winning and Felipe Massa coming home in third place. With this weekends event being only the second race at the Yeongam Circuit. No real trends can be seen. The teams are able to use very little of the information that they gathered last season, due to the introduction of KERS, DRS and the change in tire manufacturer. Hopefully, both Felipe and Fernando can provide a result to match last season, or dare we hope that they can go slightly better and bring home a Ferrari first and second?

Given the speed of the RedBulls throughout this season and what appears to be a resurgence from Jenson Button it may be a difficult ask. In some quarters it is thought that we may now see the best racing of the season. With the WDC concluded, the new champion will no doubt want to continue his form until the end of the season, we will also have four or 5 other drivers who will be out to make a point.

As the rest of this season we may also see something of next season, as teams move a greater level of focus towards 2012. With the aerodynamic changes being rather significant - removal of the off throttle blown exhuasts - the teams will need all the time they can find to adjust the cars.
