Fisi dead last in 200th GP while Sutil is faster
Fisi on Saturday

Unlucky Giancarlo Fisichella has received his second grid penalty in as many races. The Roman, who is sporting a special helmet and livery at Monaco this weekend in celebration of his 200th GP, developed a gearbox problem in Saturday practice. The team subsequently had to change the 'box which, under 2008 regulations, earned him a five place grid penalty for tomorrow's race.
The penalty will have no chance to actually have any affect on Fisico's grid placing however, as his bad luck continued and he only managed to qualify 20th and last.
"This morning I had a problem with the gearbox and we had to change it, so I would have been penalised five places anyway, but then it was only ready about 14:05 so we didn't have enough time to do three runs.
"My first run was not great, but the second was better but then I lost the chance to do a quick lap as I got caught behind Barrichello just after the swimming pool as he was slowing down.
"Very very frustrating."
The incident Giancarlo mentions with Rubens Barrichello came under investigation by the race stewards but it seems nothing has come of that.

Fisi's 200th GP helmet
Adrian Sutil fared slightly better but was unable to repeat the promise he showed in morning practice. The German managed the 8th fastest time in FP3 but 19th was all he could manage in qualifying, both Force cars out in the first session.
"I felt my first laps were quite good, but then I had to pass a couple of cars in the first sector. It is really only two tenths or so, but from that point on it's difficult to get in the rhythm. We had planned to do two laps but you never know whether there will be traffic so we left some margin with the fuel and I could stay out for a few more laps to get some better ones in.
"There were some positives though: at least we have got the tyre problem fixed and they are working well now."
Sutil's time was just a fraction off being six tenths faster than Fisi - the first time he has out-qualified his teammate on merit in quali this year.
Echoing the disappointment of Giancarlo in his 200th GP, Mike Gascoyne added, "Adrian has done a steady job today, improving in each session, but overall I think we had a car that shouldn't be on the back row."
Adrian Sutil (car 20, VJM01/02):
FP3: 8th 1:17.883 (23 laps)
Q1: 19th 1:17.225 (12 laps)
Giancarlo Fisichella (car 21, VJM01/04):
FP1: 19th 1:19.131 (10 laps)
Q1: 20th 1:17.823 (8 laps)

Fisico was anyway last, so once again this topic is senseless!
I realised that it sounded like he wouldn't be last if he didn't have the penalty after I wrote it which is why, if you had looked, you'd have seen that I've actually changed the story title. It just doesn't update the title on the link to the story from the messageboard and there is no way that I can do it manually.

You could have saved your time to do something more senseful than this topic.

I think Keiba is eager to have a shot at running a F1 fan website/message board.

What is there that isn't 'senseful' about it other than the titling error I made when I linked it from the messageboard?
If I didn't keep this site up-to-date on news the messageboard would automatically go into test mode which means nobody can post on it.

Keiba, it's not a topic it's a news story commenting on the events of the Monaco GP qualifying.

well we all know Fisico starts from the last spot, we do not need a pidgeon to talk it after.
Well fine. It's better than being a jumped up arrogant tosspot who thinks he's better than everybody else.
I have to post stories on this site no matter how boring you may think they are. If I didn't, the messageboard would close and the fans that use this site would no longer be able to. I don't get paid (except the money I receive from adverts which varies from about 2p to 8p per day) but I still put what most would consider a disproportionate amount of time in at this site.
If you don't like what I do at this site then that's fine. Just don't let the door hit you on the way out.

So I'm a pigeon now, am I?

well, look, nobody can force you to do anything.
And you do not need to put things there every 5 minutes....

Keiba, please be reasonable. Some of us like the Force India-centric news items. If you don't want to read them, you can always look at the other stuff on this site - you can tell from the "Started by" bit on the message board which items are news and which are standard forum threads (bearing in mind that anything started by "Force India" is a news item). However, it is considered bad form to post to a thread purely to criticise its presence or its author.
Alianora, please, why do people not take advice from me and use their time for more senseful stuff?
That is my only question, instead of writing a topic LIKE this, you could a lot more things....that make a lot more fun, XD...for example... nailing......the wall I mean.
but by the way, you forgot that Zettel gets a 5 place grid penalty too..so that means he is the last on the grid!
And Coulthard will move back to P15 too!

I did forget about that, yes. But won't Vettel start 19th with Fisi still last? I think only Adrian will benefit, won't he?

I comprehensively wrote about this process on 12th July 2010 and 6th March 2011.
