Kimi Räikkönen has stated he is strongly motivated to take victory at the Nürburgring, in this weekend's European Grand Prix. Räikkönen not only wants to turn around his fortunes in Germany, but also to reclaim ground in the fight for the Formula 1 World Championship. This is what the Finn had to say:

"I don't know what it is about Germany. I have never had any luck there during my entire Formula One career. I've always been competitive at the Nürburgring and at Hockenheim, but something always happened to stop me from winning. Let's hope that I can turn around things here in my first time with Ferrari."

Despite being 18 points down on World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton, Kimi is far from out of the title race this season. His recent return to winning ways will certainly help his challenge, though one thing will certainly mean the title will be likely.

If the McLaren team is penalized for illegally possessing confidential Ferrari technical information, both Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso could lose their World Championship points. Making it a straight shout-out for the title between teammates Räikkönen and Massa.
